This Request for Quotations (the “RFQ”) is an invitation by the Limestone District School Board (the “Board”) to prospective respondents to submit non-binding quotations for RFQ 202600007 Site improvement at Glenburnie Public School, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”). 

The site improvement project at Glenburnie PS, located at 2252 Battersea Road, Glenburnie ON, delivers a comprehensive program of site, landscape, and play upgrades to enhance outdoor learning, recreation, and overall site functionality while protecting existing natural features. Early works include site preparation and demolition, such as removal of asphalt, play surfacing, sports equipment, a former flagpole foundation, and portions of an abandoned septic system, with select items relocated on site. All construction areas are securely hoarded, utilities are located, and site safety is maintained to ensure the school remains safely operational throughout construction. Earthworks involve stripping sod and organic material, reusing suitable on-site soils for fill and berm construction, importing topsoil where needed, and implementing new grading to support positive drainage, preserve existing trees, and reinstate disturbed areas.

New construction includes light-duty asphalt paving, concrete pads and walkways, rolled curbs, and a range of specialized play surfacing such as engineered wood fibre, stone dust, and sand areas. Recreational features include a new soccer field with permanent goals, a basketball court, and designated play zones with new and relocated play structures with safety surfacing. The project also introduces a naturalized kindergarten play yard with outdoor classroom elements, balance and climbing features, and a custom wooden playhouse. Site security and circulation are improved through new and modified fencing and gates, and the project concludes with complete landscape restoration, including planting, mulched beds, lawn reinstatement, and a comprehensive maintenance and warranty period.
