This Request for Quotations (the “RFQ”) is an invitation by the Limestone District School Board (the “Board”) to prospective respondents to submit non-binding quotations for Drainage Improvements at Amherstview PS, Paving Upgrades at Bath PS and Clarendon Central PS, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).

(1) RFQ 21-28A Field Regrading and Upgrades at Amherstview Public School

This project consists of paving along the west side of the school, and the soccer field will be regraded to allow for safe year-round use. The new pavement will provide proper drainage to the existing underground stormwater network via a new catch basin. The fields will be regraded with a center crown that allows the runoff to flow to the edges of the field and be conveyed by swales and sub-drainage to newly created inlets in the existing stormwater network. Additionally, an existing precast concrete storage building will be repositioned at a lower elevation, allowing improved access.       

(2) RFQ 21-28B Playground Regrading and Stormwater Upgrades at Bath Public School

This project consists of regrading and stormwater improvements along the school's west side. To convey stormwater runoff from the play areas and eliminate the safety risks associated with seasonal ice building up in the area.  The project will see new sub drainage installation under and around the existing and proposed play areas and a stormwater network to convey the runoff away from the play area and out to the existing perimeter road swale. This improvement will include the reconfiguration of the existing basketball court, accessible concrete curbing around the play structures and the replacement of a large section of paving. To provide an accessible playground that can be enjoyed by everyone a new retaining wall and ramp will be provided along the north boundary of the project.

(3) RFQ 21-28C Parking Lot Regrading and Paving Upgrades at Clarendon Central Public School

This project consists of additional parking. With students and faculty travelling longer distances, the need for enlarging and improving the ageing onsite parking facilities has grown. The project will see the number of onsite parking spaces increased to fourteen, as well as the parking lot being expanded to allow for minibus turning. The project will see the construction of a new entrance with road widening to allow for a safe layby as student drop offs are taking place. The project will also include the construction of a swale along the north side to improve stormwater runoff and a culvert under the entrance to convey stormwater flows and reduce winter icing hazards.
